Steamboat Springs Fall Activities

Go up, up, and away over Steamboat Springs this fall. Hot air ballooning is one of the oldest forms of travel. Bring your camera and capture stunning views of the Steamboat Springs area, the Flat Top Mountains, and Hahn’s Peak – an inactive volcano. All flights take off in the morning between 7-8 a.m. due to weather conditions and are approximately 45 minutes. End the flight with a champagne toast. You’ll also receive a personalized flight certificate. Ask about senior, child, and “basket” rates. Light snacks are provided as well, and you can request shuttle service to and from the launch site. All flights are subject to cancellation due to weather.

Horseback Riding 

Before the snow falls, get out and enjoy the beautiful greenery dotted by hues of Colorado’s fall colors. Gather your group and saddle up for a horseback ride. There are ranches around Steamboat Springs that guide you through the scenic trails that Old West cowboys used to follow. Horseback riding is fun for people of all ages and ability levels. Mountain Biking 

Grab a mountain bike and hit the trails before the snow falls. Old Town Hot Springs is located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs and is a multi-use complex, giving you a full-body workout and relaxation session. It boasts eight natural mineral water hot pools, two water slides, a fitness center, an aquatic rock climbing wall, a kid’s area, and more. Strawberry Park Hot Springs is located on the edge of the Yampa Valley. You’ll find thermal pools that range in temperature from 101-106 degrees Fahrenheit. Only cash will be accepted for entry fees at Strawberry Park. No credit or debit cards.

Indoor Activities 

If the cool Colorado weather drives you back indoors, there’s no need to stay at your rental. There are plenty of indoor activities in and around Steamboat Springs everyone will enjoy. Get in your exercise with indoor tennis or pickleball at the tennis center or try for a 300 at the newly remodeled bowling alley, Snow Bowl.
