The rules state only string, glue, cardboard, duct tape, masking tape, and water-based paint can be used to construct the craft. The expectation is that each cardboard vehicle is decorated as well. The Steamboat event has participants racing these cardboard creations down the slopes to a spectacularly eye-catching finish most of the time.
