A One-of-a-Kind Race in Steamboat Springs

Athletes from across the map make their way to Colorado each summer for two days in early August to be a part of the Wild West Relay experience. In total, the race route spans 200 miles and showcases beautiful terrain between Fort Collins and Steamboat Springs. Individuals, small teams and 12 runner teams alike can sign up for the event and put their skills to work running a route that utilizes the Rocky Mountains as a natural backdrop. The Wild West Relay is both challenging and exhilarating and while it’s broken up into multiple legs, it remains a testament to an athlete’s endurance and resilience every step of the way.

Take Part in an Unforgettable Challenge

When you register to participate in the Wild West Relay, you and your team will register in advance and make your way to the packet pickup and team meet-and-greet event in Fort Collins the day before the race. The competition gets underway at a starting line located at the Anheuser Busch facility in Fort Collins with staggered start times running between 5:00 am and 9:00 am. The second day of the race sees athletes heading into Steamboat Springs towards the finish line set up at the base of the mountain. Competitors are rewarded with lunch and drinks with a high-energy party to follow and celebrate at Storm Peak Brewing starting at 5:00 pm. Those who choose to stick around for an additional day can enjoy meeting up with other athletes to make the most of a post-race float down the Yampa River in good company at 11:00 am.
