Stagecoach State Park is located at 25500 Co Road 14 in nearby Oak Creek, Colorado, and is open to enjoy and explore year-round. A daily vehicle pass is $10 while an individual pass to the park can be purchased for $4. Stagecoach State Park is home to a number of boat ramps and a campground as well as an amphitheater situated next to a popular group picnic area. There’s a marina found at the north end of the park, a park office on-site, and a swimming beach for guests to enjoy as well. This park is also a prime place among hiking enthusiasts as it’s home to a collection of captivating trails to explore during a visit.
Activities to Enjoy While You’re Here
If you do plan on taking to the trails, there are six on the map that offer up great options for fun. Groomed winter trails are tantalizing in the cold weather months on both the north and south sides of the park’s lake. Of course, the Public Lands Access Trail is wonderful year-round and offers up a ¾ mile adventure out and back that links up with Elk Run Trail near the dam too. At the marina, guests have the option of renting fishing boats, pontoon boats, paddleboards, paddle boats, and canoes as well. The marina is open to the public from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend each year. Many visitors also choose to spend time biking their way through Stagecoach State Park thanks to the 8 miles of dedicated bike trails on-site. Birding is always a delight at the park with species to spot ranging from Bald Eagles and Ospreys to White Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, songbirds, hawks, and falcons too. Dogs are more than welcome in the park as long as they’re leashed, and in the winter, cross-country skiing trails are open for exploring!
