Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series
Enjoy an exciting night of fun for the whole family at the Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series. This town favorite takes place every Friday and Saturday night through July and August at the Brent Romick Rodeo Arena located in Downtown Steamboat Springs. Opening weekend kicks off on Thursday, July 1st with performances also on July 2nd, July 3rd and July 4th to celebrate the holiday weekend. Make sure to arrive early to enjoy some famous BBQ before the show starts!
Biking
Known as “Bike Town, USA,” Steamboat Springs offers plenty of biking opportunities. Locals bike for exercise, to experience the beauty of the area, and even bike to work! With all the biking culture of the area, it’s no surprise there are plenty of opportunities for downhill biking, cross country routes, road biking, cruising, gravel biking and more. There is even a jump park with various hills and ramps with areas for beginner, intermediate, and advanced dirt bikers. Come back in the winter for a “fat tire” snow biking experience.
Water Sports
Head to one of the three Colorado state parks with lakes that surround the Steamboat Springs area. Enjoy a myriad of water activities including fishing, boating, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Surrounded by Colorado’s beautiful mountain terrain, you can take a break from the water and enjoy a picnic while you soak up the beauty all around you. Come back in the winter months for excellent ice fishing.
Golfing on Your 4th of July Steamboat Springs Vacation
The golfers of the group will want to take a break out on the links. The Steamboat Springs area boasts three nearby golf courses where you can practice your skills: Rollingstone Ranch Golf Course, Haymaker Golf Course, and Steamboat Golf Club. Share the course with wildlife like elk, eagles, blue herons, and others. If your clubs didn’t make the packing list, ask about a rental set when booking your tee time.
Mountain Tap Brewery
If you love local food and brews, head to Mountain Tap Brewery. Choose any of their in-house-made brews and pair them with morsels of delicious food that has spent time in the restaurant’s wood-fired oven. Enjoy snacks and ‘small plates’ like popcorn or the “Brewery Board” – a sampling of seasonal meats, cheeses, and jams mixed with olives, Marcona almonds, house pickles, and bread. You can also choose from salads, pizzas, and decadent desserts including campfire s’mores and tiramisu. Currently, the brewery is open for indoor dining and offers takeaway options.
Saddleback Ranch
Saddle up and get a look at the Colorado sun and scenery from a horse’s point of view. Saddleback Ranch of Steamboat Springs offers horseback rides that take you over the hills and through the trees and mountain scenery of the Saddleback Ranch area. Experiences are offered in 1- or 2-hour blocks, where you’ll be guided on a tour of can’t-miss landmarks like Sleeping Giant, Mt. Werner, and the Flattops, just to name a few of Steamboat Springs’ most iconic features of natural beauty. Come back in the winter for views blanketed with snow or for their snow tubing experience.
Hot Springs
A major attraction of a locale called “Steamboat Springs” is the natural springs in the area. Old Town Hot Springs is located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs and is a multi-use complex complete with eight natural mineral water hot pools, two water slides, a fitness center, an aquatic rock climbing wall, a kids’ area, and more. Strawberry Park Hot Springs is located on the edge of the Yampa Valley and features thermal pools that range in temperature from 101-106 degrees. Remember to bring cash! No credit or debit cards are excepted at Strawberry Park.
