2023 Upcoming Spring Events in Steamboat Springs
Living in a mountain town, we know how to celebrate when the sun comes out to shine, and you’ll find the first week of April brings the wonderful local Springalicious Festival. You’ll still find snow-covered peaks but the close of ski season is near, and warmer days are ahead! This lovely event celebrates the conclusion of the colder months and lasts an entire week with action-packed days of entertainment and fun. You’ll find local vendors selling food, live music, and plenty of other festivities, such as the Cardboard Classic and the epic Splashdown Pond Skim, where skiers attempt to skim over an ice-cold pond at the base of a hill. This family-friendly event isn’t to be missed! This year’s Springalicious Festival is from April 1st, 2023 to April 9th, 2023.
Toast to Spring at the Tread of Pioneers Museum’s History Happy Hours
This clever and unique event is reoccurring, so you’ll have a couple of chances to attend. The Tread of Pioneers Museum pairs both western history and delicious local craft beer for a fun-filled evening where you can enjoy debaucherous tales of the old west while sampling some of our finest Steamboat Springs brews. It’s the perfect mix of both old and new Colorado, and you might even learn a thing or two about local history! This spring’s events are as follows:
March 1st, 2023: Harry Tracy: The Mind-Blowingly True Story of the West’s Most Overlooked Outlaw” (with artifacts!) led by Paul Knowles from the Museum of Northwest Colorado.
April 5th, 2023: “Miners, Mischief, and Mayhem in Routt County” told by local historian Paul Bonnifield.
Attend the First Friday Artwalk in Historic Downtown
If you find yourself here on the first Friday of March, April, or May, you’ll be able to experience the charm of our First Friday Artwalk. Here you’ll find booths from artists from Steamboat Springs and beyond, and you can browse what they have for sale for something unique to take home with you. There will also be vendors selling food, and live music! It’s a terrific and family-friendly way to experience some of the artistic cultures of Steamboat Springs. The First Friday Artwalk takes place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and continues through the summer!
Immerse Yourself in the Sound of Bluegrass at Winter Wonder Grass
Technically this event takes place just before the spring season officially starts, but it’s always a treasured tradition that welcomes the oncoming season. Featuring an impressive lineup of both well-known and up-and-coming bluegrass acts, this festival takes place over three days in Steamboat Springs, and offers both general and VIP tickets. You can expect to find lots of local bites and brews for sale at the festival as well. If you’re ready to jam out on the mountain, this year’s Winter Wonder Grass takes place from March 3rd, 2023 to March 5th, 2023, and the doors open at 2 p.m.
