When spring break hits in Colorado, you’ll find people flocking to the mountains to get in a bit of spring skiing before the season ends in April. In Steamboat Springs it’s no different, and you’ll find the slopes alive with action. Whether you’re an expert skier or testing out your skills on fresh powder for the first time, you’ll find a trail to fit your experience level at our local ski resort. There are also rentals and lessons, making it an easy one-stop shop if you’re not already traveling with your favorite gear. Even better, there are a number of amazing ski-on, ski-off condos that you can rent that will put you right in the middle of the action. It’ll certainly be a spring break to remember when you spend it out in the mountains!

Take a Spring Dip in the Famous Hot Springs

This goes without saying, but this is one of the top things to do in Steamboat Springs, and even better you’ll find it right in town. You don’t have to travel far to sample one of nature’s highest luxuries, as Old Town Hot Springs is just south of downtown Steamboat Springs. Spend the day exploring the gorgeous facilities, which include eight pools fed by local and natural hot springs. The center also offers a climbing wall, fitness center, fitness classes, and professional massages for an extra cost.

If you’re willing to travel to the north end of town, you can enjoy a day at the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, which offers a more natural and remote feel, as you’re accessing the hot springs at the source. Beautiful rocks, pines, and mountains surround the pools, truly giving you the sense of being in one of mother nature’s organic spas. The springs offer restrooms, a warm cabin for putting on your swimsuits, and picnic tables if you feel like breaking for lunch. Bring your own, or purchase from a small selection of snacks and drinks.

The pools are open year-round, so whether it’s the height of summer or a snowy winter wonderland, you’ll be able to enjoy the pools no matter when you’re visiting—but they are especially beautiful in the chilly weather of the spring! It’s a terrific activity after a day of skiing, or if you’re just looking to get a little spring break relaxation in.
