While not a romantic hot spot, it still needs to be on the list of “must do” activities during your trip. There are two hot springs that keep locals and visitors coming back time and again. Old Town Hot Springs, located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs, is a multi-use complex that gives you a full body workout and relaxation session. It boasts eight natural mineral water hot pools, two water slides, a fitness center, aquatic rock-climbing wall, kid’s area, and more. Strawberry Park Hot Springs is located on the edge of the Yampa Valley. You’ll find thermal pools ranging in temperature from 101-106 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure to check COVID-19 restrictions before heading out. Restrooms are still available, but changing rooms are limited. Only cash will be accepted for entry fees. No credit or debit cards.
Saddleback Ranch
Book a romantic winter horseback riding experience with Saddleback Ranch in Steamboat Springs. The 1–2-hour experience takes you over the hills and through the trees and mountain scenery of snowy Saddleback Ranch. You’ll see the Flattops, Sleeping Giant, and Mt. Werner, just to name a few features of Steamboat Springs’ natural beauty. Another winter experience provided by Saddleback Ranch is winter snow tubing. Fly down Yee-Haw Hill on an inner tube, then head back up to go again on their state-of-the-art tube-tow lift system. When you reserve online you can opt to be picked up at the Mt. Werner Transit Center. For those driving themselves, there are no reservations and it’s first-come, first-served.
Haymaker Sleigh Ride Dinner
A unique date night idea that mixes dinner and a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride into one experience for you and your sweetheart. Start at the Haymaker clubhouse in Steamboat Springs where you’ll enjoy drinks and appetizers. Then settle in for a mouth-watering Colorado-inspired three-course meal as you take in the breathtaking sunset. Reservations are required well in advance for this experience.
