We tend to forget there are multiple holidays that are celebrated in the month of December and in 2024, Hanukkah actually begins on December 25th giving us twice the reason to celebrate. And as you explore all that Steamboat Springs brings to the table in the winter, patiently waiting for the countdown to 2025 to begin, on December 28th our Hanukkah Mountain Ceremony will bring a new light to your holiday celebrations, offering music, sweets, and the lighting of one of the menorah. It’s a brief ceremony starting at 3 PM and ending by 3:30, one that is held on the Steamboat Stage, but it is also one that everyone is invited to attend.
Of Course, you Want to Ski
One of the resolutions we dutifully make each year is to exercise more and instead of a gym membership, making your way to Steamboat Springs for a ski getaway should be at the top of your list, especially if you live relatively close. New Year’s Eve Light Up Snow Cat Parade & Fireworks, Steamboat Resort, 5:30 to 6 PM
Attending the New Year’s Eve Light up Snow Cat Parade & Fireworks show at Steamboat Resort is a tradition we look forward to every year. Starting at 5:30 on the dot, a procession of 5 snow cats covered in thousands of twinkle lights starts down the mountain, followed by another procession, this one consisting of the resort’s ski instructors doing their own serpentine trip down the mountain with the way lit only by the snow cats further ahead and a torch that they hold in their own hands. At the conclusion of the parade, all eyes turn skyward as the New Year’s Eve fireworks show lights up the sky, bringing joy and awe to all who witness it. And because it is still early in the evening of this last night of 2024, visitors can continue on their merry way, celebrating the holiday in the ways that make them feel happy.
