That means in 2025 you can come visit in the later months of the 2024-2025 or the beginning of the 2025-2026 ski seasons. Steamboat Springs is home to Steamboat Ski Resort where you can find the best slopes in the area. Steamboat Springs is technically located on Mount Werner here in the Rocky Mountains and is where you can find the slopes of the resort. Steamboat Springs will make sure that everything you need for a successful resolution ski trip is at your hands. The local resort will offer you all the gear you need at the on site rental shop. That means you can leave gear at home and check out boards, skis, helmets, boots, bindings, poles, and much more. If you are a beginner skier or want practice to get your bearings back you can sign up for the many introductory lessons taking place. These lessons are available as public or private lessons making sure you have plenty of options. Once you have the gear and the knowledge you will be ready to hit the slopes. The additional snow activities will also include taking a guided snowshoe hike through the Yampa Valley. Sign up for an Ambassador Mountain Tour where you explore Mount Werner and learn about its rich history. Cross country skiing is available at the Haymaker Nordic Center and will take you across the winter terrain. Horseback riding is not technically a winter only activity but is still available during the season through locations Saddleback Ranch and Del’s Triangle Ranch. These winter activities are available all winter long and are sure to bring some fun to your New Year’s resolution journey.
Summer Fun
The warmer months of the year are still inviting here in Steamboat Springs so do not make your New Year’s resolution a winter only journey. Once the snow and ice thaw off for the spring and summer months you will find even more activities at your fingertips. The mountain slopes will thaw off and show bike trails that are perfect for off road biking. These trails will take you all over the mountain and nearby the local rivers too. Visit the Alpine Slide for a 2,400 foot track that bends all over Howelsen Hill. Of course with the snow melted on the mountain you will find the ice in the local lakes and rivers to also be clear. Head over to Pearl Lake or Steamboat Lake during the warmer months of the year to escape town for a bit. Pearl Lake offers a quieter escape where you can float in the water or enjoy some paddle boarding. Steamboat Lake is where you can find unique beauty all around you as you enjoy water sports or some fishing. The outdoors is all about fun here in Steamboat Springs.
